About us

The organisation was founded in 2007 as the Society for Practical Diplomacy by enthusiastic students of the Faculty of Social Sciences at Corvinus University of Budapest to complement their theoretical knowledge with practical knowledge. In 2017, the organisation became an accredited College of Practical Diplomacy. In addition to the students of the Corvinus University of Budapest, the membership of the organisation includes students of the Pázmány Péter Catholic University, the Károli Gáspár Reformed University, the Budapest University of Economics and Business, the National University of Public Service and the Eötvös Loránd University.

Through high-quality and varied professional programmes, conferences, simulations and courses, we ensure that our members acquire practical knowledge that complements their academic education. The main discipline of the organisation’s professional work is diplomacy, which includes international studies, international economics, security policy, geopolitics, international law and other inter-state disciplines. With the present, you support the future!

Our focus is on creating and developing practical skills that will equip our members with competitive knowledge that can be used in many areas of the labour market. Our CASDP Junior program helps young high school students decide to continue their studies and introduces them to the field of diplomacy.

Every six months, we offer more than 10 professional and human skills courses to our members, led by recognised experts in their field It is important for us to help those in need.

In the framework of the “Adopt a Kindergarten” movement, we help disadvantaged children at the Szalontai Road Kindergarten in Sarkad with our donations.

Our open events explore current global political and economic events with experts and researchers. We organise UN and NATO simulations at least annually on a recurring basis, as well as round table discussions with well-known speakers. We place great emphasis on promoting cultural diplomacy among our members. We regularly attend exhibitions and other cultural events together. What you should know about the 1% tax donation:

Any individual who becomes liable to pay personal income tax is entitled to a 1+1% of it. The first 1% may be donated to a registered NGO, while the second 1% may be donated to a religious community with a technical number. Once the taxpayer decides which organisations he wishes to support, he has until 20 May each year to make a provision for 1+1% of his tax. The donation of the 1+1% of personal income tax is free of charge for taxpayers and can be made electronically or by post. If the deadline is not met, it is no longer possible to make a provision for the year in question. Many taxpayers forget or fail to make provision for the 1+1% of their personal income tax, but for most NGOs the amount received from donations is extremely important and is of great significance in carrying out the work necessary to achieve their objectives.

How can you arrange to donate 1% of your tax?

If the individual has an electronic wallet, the easiest way to submit his/her declaration is electronically: using the online filler on the e-SZJA web interface or using the SAD together with the return, completing its SAD form or separately by completing the form 20SAD. You can submit it in paper form by post or in a sealed envelope to the NAV customer services in person or by proxy: together with the personal income tax return, by completing the form on the same page, on a declaration form prepared using the e-SZJA filling-in software and then printed out, on form 20EGYSZA or on a declaration form with the same content, and, if the employer undertakes to collect the declarations, by 2022. 10 May 2022, in a sealed envelope, to the employer. The envelope must bear the signature of the offeror where it is sealed. If the statements are submitted by an ad hoc proxy, the proxy must be attached to the statement.

How can I be informed about the use of my donation?

Each year, the organisation prepares and sends to donors an annual information sheet describing how donations were used in the year. In order for us to send this information to you, it is important that you provide your name and email address in the 1% provision and that you consent to us receiving it. Thank you for your donation!
